Three people were injured in a two-vehicle accident on M-26 yesterday.
Just before 8 pm last night, Troopers from the MSP Calumet Post responded to a multi-vehicle accident near Junction Road in Osceola Township. Troopers determined that a southbound pickup truck lost control and began to slide sideways on the highway. The truck then struck another vehicle with a snowplow, that was traveling northbound, after crossing the center line.
The southbound pickup was split into two sections in the impact. The driver of the southbound pickup and the driver and passenger of the northbound vehicle were transported to UP Health Systems portage for medical attention.
Law enforcement believes alcohol may have been a factor in the crash. The incident remains under investigation.
