The region’s first snow sculpting competition will begin this afternoon.
The Hancock Snow Sculpting Invitational will be held at Quincy Green.
Hancock DDA coordinator Todd Gast says we were fortunate to get two very experienced competitors…
We’ve got Team USA coming, we’ve got Sculptora Borealis, and these are national championship-caliber teams.
Two local teams with some experience of their own will join the competition…
We have Tau Kappa Epsilon from Michigan Tech, and St. Albert the Great Parish at Michigan Tech, as well.
Alongside the main event, area residents are invited to join a snowman building competition, put together by the Hancock Business Association…
They thought, well, building snow people, snow families, snow moms and dads and kids throughout town and throughout the region was a really good idea.
If you’re interested in joining the snowman competition, call city hall for details.
Work in the formal competition will begin around 1:00 this afternoon, continue through tomorrow, and end Sunday morning. Results will be announced Sunday afternoon at 2:00.
