Gibson Cup
The Portage Lake Pioneers and Calumet Wolverines will begin the battle for the Gibson Cup tonight at Dee Stadium. Game two will be played tomorrow at the Colosseum. Game three, if necessary, will be staged Saturday night at the Dee. All the games will face off at 7:30, with coverage beginning around 7:15 on KBear 102.3.

The Red Wings entertain the Hurricanes tomorrow.
NBA
The undermanned Pistons lost to the Thunder 119-103 last night. Playing without the suspended Ron Holland II, Marcus Sasser and Isaiah Stewart, and with Cade Cunningham still sidelined with a thigh injury, Tim Hardaway, Jr. led Detroit with 23 points. Jalen Duren had 13 points and 13 rebounds.
The Pistons visit the Raptors tomorrow. Holland and Sasser will be back. Stewart has another suspended game to sit out.
The Bucks visit the 76ers this evening.
MLB
The Tigers dropped a 3-2 decision to the Mariners yesterday. Tarik Skubal pitched into the sixth, gave up all three Seattle runs on six hits, and took the loss. Trey Sweeney homered for Detroit.
The Tigers take today off, and host the White Sox in their home opener tomorrow afternoon. Jack Flaherty will start against Jonathan Cannon. Coverage will begin at 12:45 on 99.3 The Lift.
The Brewers pulled out a 3-2 11-inning victory over the Royals yesterday. Freddy Peralta turned in eight strong innings, giving up one run on two hits and striking out eight. Jackson Chourio hit a first-inning homer, then belted an RBI double to keep the game going after K.C. had scored in the top of the 10th. In the bottom of the 11th, Brice Turang laid down a perfect bunt along the first base line, and Oliver Dunn raced home from third with the winning run.
The Brewers open a home set against the Reds tonight. Nestor Cortes will pitch against Nick Lodolo.
